Course Description

Our 8-week dental assisting program is a hybrid of online, hands on and externship learning. Your classes will be held in our fully equipped and state-of-the-art dental office. As the entire course is completed in just eight weeks, your learning schedule will be condensed to cover all necessary topics in a short amount of time.

Online (At Home) Learning
UEDAS uses micro learning in combination with textbooks to deliver online discussions and lectures. These didactic lecture hours (about 3 hours per week) will include topics such as:

  • Dental terminology
  • Equipment
  • Instruments
  • Procedures
  • Ethics
  • Leadership
  • Employability skills

Clinical (In Person) Learning
During clinical hours, you will have the opportunity to practice manual dexterity and use the knowledge from your lecture classes in a practical, hands-on setting where you can develop your skills and experience.

Externship
During your externship you will apply all your knowledge and fine-tune your skills, gaining confidence with patients and within the dental clinic setting. For the purpose of obtaining work experience or for specialized training, United Exchange Dental Assisting School offers students of our program an unpaid, 200-hour externship to fulfill graduation requirements. During this experience, you will experience the day-to-day responsibilities as a dental assistant and observe practice and patient management. This externship offers more in-depth training to cap your learning through our program and will enable you to kick-start your career with the most accelerated and thorough training possible.

What Sets Our Course Apart

UEDAS uses an innovative teaching method known as micro learning. We believe that micro learning is the future of education. This educational model incorporates videos and other interactive content with lectures and textbooks with the help of SoEasy. This is unlike any other human resource company, as the SoEasy platform includes the use of artificial intelligence. This AI encourages interaction between users and helps students view educational content that is tailored to their needs. Here at United Exchange Dental Assisting School, we teach with the intent that our students will retain and apply the information learned to their greatest advantage.

What is Microlearning?
Micro learning is learning in short, digestible chunks that are easily accessible via modern devices, such as phones. The most effective way of learning in the modern world is with a combination of visual and kinesthetic learning styles. Micro learning encourages this by allowing students to consume smaller pieces of information, encouraging retention of materials. By using this model of leaning, we can fulfill our commitment of support and service to our students and instill core values of teamwork, leadership and innovation.
